A Place for Mom Senior Wisdom Video Scholarship: A scholarship for university students interested in the fields of aging and gerontology.

Requirements: This scholarship will be awarded to a citizen or a permanent resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) who is enrolled and currently taking classes at an accredited college or university. Applicants will create a video submission that captures the theme of “The Value of Seniors in Our Lives and Benefits to Society.”
Deadline Date: Submissions accepted all year, prizes awarded quarterly. Submit by Sept. 30, 2018 to be considered for third-quarter prize.
Value: $1,000

The One Awards: Awards offered by Hydro One to acknowledge and share the ingenuity of aspiring professionals to the joint benefit of the company and its customers.

Requirements: Three awards available, criteria/requirements vary. Complete the online application(s) to be considered.
Deadline Date: Oct. 1, 2018
Value: Multiple cash prizes available including $5,000 awards. Paid work terms/summer positions with Hydro One also available.

Parking Solutions Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship to the student who suggests the most innovative, yet practical parking solution.

Requirements: Write a 500-word essay that is original, creative, and persuasive on the subject of technology innovation in parking solutions (see example parking solutions), specifically from your perspective as a student.
Deadline Date: Oct. 15, 2018
Value: $1,000

Fitnesstrainer.com Scholarship: A grant aimed at health students and anyone enrolled in college or university that is trying to transform their bodies.

Requirements: Write a 1,000-word (minimum) article on: “How personal training helped transform my life.” Submissions cannot exceed 2,000 words. This scholarship is open to high school students accepted to university or college and current university/college students.
Deadline Date: Nov. 1, 2018
Value: $1,000

DesignContest Student Aid Program: The program will award thirteen scholarships per year to students that demonstrate top research academics skills.

Requirements: Write a 1,500-2,000-word essay on one of 10 topics including: What makes top converting web pages; logo historical development and the future trends; how to build a brand; and print technology and its future.
Deadline Date: Dec. 31, 2018
Value: $1,500

What’s New!

Part-time OSAP: Funding certificates for OSAP for Part-Time Students will be available at the SFAS office (Gilmour Hall, 120) this week. Watch for a notification in your Mosaic to-do list. Starting this fall, part-time OSAP funding will automatically be redirected to McMaster to pay tuition and fees. Learn more about part-time OSAP


OSAP confirmations of enrolment: The OSAP confirmation of enrolment process is ongoing. OSAP funding will be released within 5-7 business days of your confirmation of enrolment. Watch your McMaster email and OSAP Message Centre for notifications. See when you’ve received your funding in your Mosaic Student Center.


Important OSAP change: Starting this fall, all OSAP funding will automatically be sent to McMaster to pay tuition and student fees. Funding left over after covering tuition/fees will be deposited into students’ bank accounts. Learn more on how to track your funding.
