Gunn’s Hill Wind Farm Educational Bursaries: Financial awards intended to promote the success of Ontario’s Indigenous students involved in post-secondary education and job training relating to the renewable energy industry.

Requirements: Complete the application form and submit a short essay (1-2 pages) explaining how your education or training can be applied to the renewable energy industry and how this bursary will be applied to that education, including a brief summary of the costs to be covered by this bursary. Two bursaries are being offered: one for members of the Six Nations of the Grand River only; one for any Indigenous student living in Ontario.
Deadline Date: July 31, 2018
Value: Up to $4,000 available through each bursary.

The Synergize Scholarship Fund: Granted to students attending a Canadian post-secondary educational institution.

Requirement: Open to any student enrolled in a Canadian university or college attending any undergraduate program.
Deadline Date: July 31, 2018
Value: $1,000

Giatech Essay-Writing Contest: A contest that helps civil-engineering researchers expose their R&D to a global audience of industry experts.

Requirements: Open to civil-engineering professors, students (undergraduate and graduate), and researchers across Canada. Interested individuals can submit either an expository essay or a previously published article that relates to one of six topics. Essays must be written in English and be a minimum of 1,000 words in length. Previously published articles must have been published in 2017.
Deadline Date: July 31, 2018
Value: $1,000

Bill 7 AwardA Post-Secondary Scholarship for Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Two-Spirited and Queer Students in Ontario.

Requirements: Attending or accepted by a Post-Secondary Educational Institution in the Province of Ontario, pursuing your FIRST post-secondary program of study; identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited or queer (LGBTQ), and you have demonstrated financial need.
Deadline Date: Aug. 3, 2018
Value: 12 scholarships of $2,500 each

A Place for Mom Senior Wisdom Video Scholarship: A scholarship for university students interested in the fields of aging and gerontology.

Requirements: This scholarship will be awarded to a citizen or a permanent resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) who is enrolled and currently taking classes at an accredited college or university. Applicants will create a video submission that captures the theme of “The Value of Seniors in Our Lives and Benefits to Society.”
Deadline Date: Submissions accepted all year, prizes awarded quarterly. Submit by Sept. 30, 2018 to be considered for third-quarter prize.
Value: $1,000

Fitnesstrainer.com Scholarship: A grant aimed at health students and anyone enrolled in college or university that is trying to transform their bodies.

Requirements: Write a 1,000-word (minimum) article on: “How personal training helped transform my life.” Submissions cannot exceed 2,000 words. This scholarship is open to high school students accepted to university or college and current university/college students.
Deadline Date: Nov. 1, 2018
Value: $1,000
