McMaster University is proud to participate in Project Hero, an initiative co-founded by Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Kevin Reed and Retired General Rick Hillier to provide support to the sons and daughters of Canadian military killed while serving in an active mission.
As of September 2009, tuition will be waived for eligible
students in recognition of the contributions and sacrifice
of these military families.
Eligible students who apply to Project Hero between September
1, 2009 and August 31, 2014 will receive a tuition waiver for
four years of study, plus a room in residence and a regular
meal plan in the first year of study.
The recipient must be:
- a child of a Canadian Forces personnel deceased while serving in an active mission
- under the age of twenty-six
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- an undergraduate enrolled full-time in a Ministry-funded program of study
