McMaster Aid Application

Complete the online aid application in Mosaic for McMaster aid such as scholarships, bursaries and work programs. The online aid application opens for all students on Aug. 10.

Welcome/Start – Personal Profile

Your personal profile is completed once a year and cannot be revised online after clicking SAVE.
Follow these steps to complete your profile:

  • Click on ‘Apply for Financial Aid’ in Mosaic
  • Click on the aid year and start at the Welcome tab
  • Expand the text boxes to read explanations of the aid programs
  • Accept the student declaration
  • Complete personal preferences with the answer that best suits you
  • Self-identify as a student with OSAP and click SAVE OR
  • Select a reason for not receiving OSAP (only these select student groups are eligible without an OSAP assessment)
    • Indigenous Student
    • International Student
    • Student with government aid restrictions
    • Student with a disability taking a reduced course load
    • Mohawk Nursing Student
    • Student with Out-of Province Student Aid
    • Part-time Student
    • Student receiving social assistance
  • Click the Required Document List link
  • Save the list to your computer
  • Complete your ‘Cost of Attendance and Expenses’
  • Click SAVE
  • Follow the instructions outlined on your saved Required Document List
  • Submit all supporting documentation within 10 business days or the date noted on the Required Document List

Work Program / Bursary

Apply for aid during the open application dates for the program. The ‘Apply’ box will only appear if you meet all eligibility criteria. Return to the application throughout the year as application dates vary.

Follow these steps to apply:

  • Click on the ‘Work Program / Bursary’ tab
  • Submit an application for aid by checking the ‘Apply’ box
  • All required documentation must be submitted to complete the application
  • Check the status of your application under ‘View Financial Aid Applications’ in Mosaic

Aid by Application

Award applications are displayed based upon your enrolment and completed profile.
Follow these steps to apply for one or more awards:

  • Read the terms of the award
  • If you meet all award criteria, check the ‘Apply’ box (box is greyed out if the application is not open)
  • Click the Required Document List
  • Follow the instructions to submit all required documentation by the deadline date
  • Check the status of your application under ‘View Financial Aid Applications’ in Mosaic

What’s New!

Part-time OSAP: Funding certificates for OSAP for Part-Time Students will be available at the SFAS office (Gilmour Hall, 120) this week. Watch for a notification in your Mosaic to-do list. Starting this fall, part-time OSAP funding will automatically be redirected to McMaster to pay tuition and fees. Learn more about part-time OSAP


OSAP confirmations of enrolment: The OSAP confirmation of enrolment process is ongoing. OSAP funding will be released within 5-7 business days of your confirmation of enrolment. Watch your McMaster email and OSAP Message Centre for notifications. See when you’ve received your funding in your Mosaic Student Center.


Important OSAP change: Starting this fall, all OSAP funding will automatically be sent to McMaster to pay tuition and student fees. Funding left over after covering tuition/fees will be deposited into students’ bank accounts. Learn more on how to track your funding.
