Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

Have you picked up your 2012 Spring/Summer OSAP?
Follow these step-by-step instructions to determine if your OSAP is ready for pick-up at the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships Office (SFAS):

  1. Go online to http://osap.gov.on.ca
  2. Check your status.  Click on “Total Aid Issued”
  3. The “issue date” will be a Sunday.  Students who have previous OSAP need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the 2011 disbursement.  Add 5 business days for your OSAP to arrive at McMaster from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in Thunder Bay.
  4. After the 5 business days, visit the SFAS Office (Gilmour Hall, Room 120) with your three pieces of accepted identification and direct deposit banking information.  Please find more information about OSAP Release dates, times and identification requirements at http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/osap.html

Highlights

OSAP has changed!
Students will find new steps in the application process and benefit from direct deposit and an online system.  Students need to print off the Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement and take it to a designated postal outlet.  For a postal outlet near you, go to www.canlearn.ca .  Required pieces of identification and banking information are needed to complete this step.

Additionally, there will no longer be an in-person OSAP pick-up process to receive your 2012-2013 OSAP funding.

An updated SFAS website is coming soon.  Check this site regularly for up-to-date information.
