Terms & Conditions (Students starting University in September 2012)
To be eligible for an entrance award, students must meet the following general conditions:
- Canadian students and Permanent residents are eligible for any entrance award regardless of where they complete their secondary school education. Any other student completing the final year of secondary school in Canada is also eligible, including CEGEP and IB students entering Level I. International students studying outside Canada are not eligible for Entrance Awards (as listed below) administered by the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships.
- Applicants must not have completed secondary school more than two years prior to application for admission.
- Students who have registered at a post-secondary institution (college/university, etc.) at anytime after their last year of secondary school will NOT be considered for an entrance award.
- Students must register in full-time study in September and remain registered as a full-time student (minimum 24 units) in their program to retain their entrance award.
- No application is required. McMaster Entrance Awards are assessed automatically if your final admission average to your program is above 80%. The chart below shows the amount you could receive as a result of your high school grades.
* Final admission average for an Entrance Award is calculated using final grade 12 marks of the prerequisites for the student’s chosen program of study plus the next best grade 12 U or U/M courses to a total of six final grades.
